Although Take-Two Interactive appears to be focused on the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto 6 – and rightly so, given its significance – the publisher has a lot more planned for the future. In addition to its usual lineup of sports titles, including NBA 2K27, PGA Tour 2K27, and WWE 2K27, the company is also working on Judas from Ghost Story Games and Project ETHOS from 31st Union. Furthermore, Take-Two has multiple remasters and remakes in development as well.
During the company’s fiscal earnings call, Take-Two president Karl Slatoff announced plans to release six remakes, remasters, and “platform extensions” in fiscal years 2028 and 2029. This announcement does not include the three new intellectual properties and seven sequels that are also in development.
The first thing that comes to mind is the remake of Max Payne 1 and 2, which Remedy Entertainment is developing in partnership with Rockstar. It’s also possible that Red Dead Redemption 1 may be re-released on other platforms in the future, although that seems unlikely. However, could we dare to hope that the long-awaited remaster of Red Dead Redemption 2 might actually be true?
The term “platform extensions” is important to consider, and it could include the possibility of bringing Grand Theft Auto 6 to the PS6, Project Helix, and PC. If that’s the case, it wouldn’t be surprising for PC players to see a port sometime next year, or possibly in early 2028.
