Crysis 4
It’s the elephant in the room for any Heavy Hitters list. While Crysis 4 should be the crown jewel of 2027, the project has been on official hold since Crytek’s restructuring in 2024. With the studio pivoting most of its resources to Hunt: Showdown 1896, the next-gen nanosuit is currently gathering dust.
The XLN Take: We’re keeping it on our Watchlist for 2027 because if Crytek finds a co-developer or a massive influx of cash, they’ll want to launch alongside the next-gen hardware cycle. But for now? Consider this one a “Hopeful” rather than a Confirmed.

Silent Hill Remake
As of early 2026, Konami and Bloober Team have officially confirmed they are moving forward with the project. After the massive success of the Silent Hill 2 remake, they’ve set their sights on the 1999 original that started it all.
The Bloober Factor: Bloober Team’s CEO, Piotr Babieno, recently confirmed that while production is in full swing, they are taking a “patience is a virtue” approach to ensure they capture the surreal, foggy atmosphere of the PS1 classic.
The Tech: Unlike the 2024 remake, this one is reportedly being built from the ground up for next-gen hardware (think PlayStation 6 and the Xbox Helix rumors), aiming for a photorealistic Bodycam horror aesthetic that will crush even current high end rigs.
Release Window: Most industry insiders (like Dusk Golem) are pointing toward a H2 2027 release, making it the perfect anchor for your roadmap.

Layers of Fear 3
The masters of psychological horror are going back to their roots. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the franchise, Bloober Team has officially announced Layers of Fear 3. While the studio is currently juggling high profile projects like the Silent Hill 1 Remake and Cronos: The New Dawn, they’ve made it clear that Layers of Fear remains the soul of the company.
What We Know So Far
- Co-Development Strategy: CEO Piotr Babieno confirmed that while Bloober is providing the creative vision and “polishing,” the core development is being handled by a high-profile partner studio. This allows Bloober’s internal teams to stay focused on Silent Hill.
- A Transmedia Universe: This isn’t just a game. Bloober is expanding the IP into novels (starting with a book by Marta Bijan in late 2026) and music.
- The Visuals: Early teaser footage suggests a shift toward a Live Action aesthetic blended with Unreal Engine 5. It looks grittier, more tactile, and far more disturbing than the previous entries.
