With the Lies of P community approaching the first anniversary of the Overture expansion, NEOWIZ has finally provided a major update on the highly anticipated sequel. In its Q1 2026 earnings results, the company confirmed that the project has successfully passed the prototype stage and officially entered full-scale development. While technical details remain sparse, the announcement marks a significant milestone for the franchise, which has already sold more than 4 million copies and established itself as a premier title in the Souls-like genre.

A key focus of the upcoming sequel is expanding the studio’s core competency in narrative depth. NEOWIZ highlighted the strategic recruitment of directors Seung-ho Jin and Kay Lee, who were brought into the ROUND8 team specifically for their expertise in scenario writing. Although both are currently leading their own separate projects, their influence is expected to bolster the storytelling foundations of the Lies of P sequel, even as original director Choi Ji-won returns to lead the project to its next phase.
All eyes are now turning to the Summer Game Fest on June 5th. Given that the Overture expansion was shadow-dropped during last year’s showcase, fans are speculating that NEOWIZ might use the platform to share a first technical teaser or cinematic for the sequel. Director Choi Ji-won has already promised that the next instalment will not disappoint.
